Pretty in Pink – Fits a little short – I measure a 7.5, so this shoe fits, but if you have feet that are even a little bit bigger, you probably should size up for this one. The footbed is shorter in length than in the Professional (I have 2 pairs of those and they seem to vary too – one pair is slightly larger than the other) and Marcelle. These are the models I own with a clog base. I also own a whole bunch of other Danskos – Lolita (2 pr), Fleur (2 pr), Lara, Erin, Madigan, Mackenzie . . . and more, but they have the spongier type soles. I LOVE this shoe – it is very pretty in pink and dressy! I love the height you get and the padded, non-sweaty footbed. This was my first order from Zappos, since I live in Canada (I had them shipped to my brother’s place in Arizona and picked them up when I visited) but I will definitely be buying more when I get a chance to go to the U.S. again!
Monika shoes fit too small for me. Needed at least a 39 and I wear a 7.5 normally. Also didn’t care for the way the sole looked on the side. Looked like fake cork. Must return. Sorry Dansko.
I live in these shoes all summer! I love these sandals. I live in them all summer and as I live in Southern California, much of the fall and spring too. I have them in two colors. I often receive compliments on them. They are the most comfortable shoes I own. I actually wore through the insole of the first pair after several years of heavy wear, and had the insole re-done at the local cobbler. I’m still wearing them.
Great Look & Fit – I love these shoes! I got them in the Pistachio Patent and the Tangerine Latigo, both of which are surprisingly versatile colors. They are extremely comfortable and my feet never feel tired at the end of the day, even when I’ve walked 4 miles in them. They look great and have the openness of a sandal; however, they cover enough of your foot to feel secure and to hide most toe/foot flaws. It’s cooler now, so I can’t wear them now, but I can’t wait until I can wear them again next year. In the meantime I’ll try a pair of clogs or mules for the fall and I plan on getting some more pairs of Monikas before the weather turns warm again. They’re worth every penny and I highly recommend them.
Working on my feet for 8-10 hours – I have another pair of Dansko clogs and they saved my life. This summer I wasted all kinds of money on a whole bunch of shoes and I should have just gotten the Dansko in the first place! Super comfortable, great for a long day and I want to buy another pair, probably a different style. But definitely get the clog bottoms if you are looking for comfort and relief!
These are great. I can walk in them all day. I wish that the straps were a bit skinnier, but that’s a minor quibble. I ordered my normal size for Dansko – I am usually a size 9 and I ordered these in a 39. They fit perfectly.
Nice looking sandal/clog – The sandal is very nice looking in blue patent leather. It’s true to size length-wise, but it is small around the toe area. Still waiting for it to break in. The best part is it does feel secure on your foot because it has a lot of coverage.
Comfort and style!! I own four pair of Dansko’s so far! I ordered the Monika in red and loved them so much that I also ordered them in sky blue to match more of my summer wardrobe. They look and feel great! I did have to order a size bigger (39 instead of my normal 38). They are comfortable and stylish, well worth the money!
Love ‘em! This shoe is a great style, and it’s comfortable, as well. I own MANY Dansko shoes – both open and closed styles. I like them because they are comfortable to wear, giving great support. I have problems with my knees, and these shoes allow me to stay on my feet comfortable through the day. Gracie Flats
Dansko Delight – For you Seinfeld fans this is going to sound like something out of the J. Peterman Catalogue, but it is all true. I arrived at the NY Penn Station wearing 4 inch strappy sandals only to be greeted by a tremendous rain storm. After waiting in the taxi line for 20 minutes with little progression, I decided it was time to start walking despite the rain. I opened my suitcase, pulled out my new, never worn yet Dansko Monika sandals, put the 4 inch strappy sandals in the suitcase, rolled up my jeans, grabbed an umbrella and started walking. 17 blocks later I arrived at my hotel a bit wet but my feet didn’t hurt a bit. I wore them the entire weekend, walking block after block and they felt wonderful. Thanks Dansko!
This is a favorite model of mine- I had two pair last year (black & tan) & couldn’t wait for the black patent leather to come out this spring 2006! Considering that I have bunions & hammer toes, this is an open toe model that can be worn comfortably & allows the foot imperfections to be hidden even in the open toe design! I love them & is basically all I wear spring & summer!!!
Pleased with product – I already have a pair of Danko full back clogs and love them. I knew the Monika would be as comfortable as well. I wear both types to work and casual and have been extremely pleased. I wish they were available in 1/2 sizes.
